What we were handed
The client held a site that conventional construction could not reach economically. Heavy plant could not be sustained at the location, the delivery window was short, and the completed facilities had to include wastewater treatment and deployable medical support to Role 1 and Role 2 standards. Anything built there also had to be capable of being taken down and moved once the operational requirement changed.
What we did about it
We designed the programme around prefabricated and modular construction so that the majority of the build happened away from the site and arrived ready to assemble. Infrastructure design covered dining facility operations and wastewater systems as an integrated utility rather than separate installations, and portable medical facilities were specified to the Role 1 and Role 2 requirement. The result is infrastructure that meets a permanent standard while retaining the portability the client asked for.
